Once upon a time...

... a small Toastbusters Club appeared in Moscow. Did you know how it started?

The first meeting of Initiative group willing to open a new Toastmasters club was held on December, 8th 2011 at Classic Café (Moscow).

Several people took part in that meeting: prospective Executive Committee members of a new club: Mary Beketova (President), Valentin Novikov (VPE), Valeria Kholodkova (VPM), Maria Mokrushina (VPPR) and Denis Shevchuk.

This meeting was an important milestone in the history of a new club as the following decisions were taken:

  • Club’s name: Moscow Toastbusters;
  • Meeting date, time and location: every second Wednesday at 19:30 at Gorny Institute;
  • Date of the 1st meeting: January 25, 2012;
  • Meeting roles and meeting flow;
  • Action plan for the club’s launch.

Later on, Maria Mokrushina decided to leave the EC of a new club due to a high workload at her job. Nevertheless, she played an important role in the club’s formation providing enthusiasm and many valuable ideas (e.g. club’s original name – Toastbusters – was among those).

The first meeting of the Moscow Toastbusters club took place on January, 25 at Gorny Institute. 21 people took part in the meeting.

By the end of February 2012, the Executive Committee of a new club was formed. It was also decided that within the first year or two the officers would be elected once in 6 months.

Mary Beketova handled her Presidentship to Maxim Tsvetov, who served in this role till the winter of 2012.

In 2013 Dmitry Trapeznikov took this very responsibly and at the same time very prospective role and will lead Toastbusters Moscow till July 2013.
